Allowing Access for the TIBCO Spotfire App in Microsoft Azure

To be able to access data from Microsoft SharePoint Online, the Spotfire installed clients (such as Spotfire Analyst and Spotfire Desktop) use the TIBCO Spotfire registered app in Microsoft Azure.

To view your SharePoint data in Spotfire, you must allow the TIBCO Spotfire app in Microsoft Azure to access your info. Typically you are prompted for this during the login procedure in your web browser.

The purpose of allowing the TIBCO Spotfire app in Microsoft Azure to access your SharePoint data is for you to be able to access the data when you use Spotfire. Spotfire will not access your data without your express permission.

Note: To access SharePoint data in Spotfire in on-premises web clients (such as Spotfire Business Author and Consumer), you must configure your web player services to access SharePoint through your own application in Azure. See Enabling the Microsoft SharePoint Connector in Spotfire Web Clients.

Administrator consent

In some organizations, a user with administration rights might have to grant permission for the TIBCO Spotfire app for your organization. This might depend on how you have configured the setting Users can consent to apps accessing company data on their behalf. If this is set to No, non-admin users might not be able to access data from SharePoint Online in Spotfire before an administrator has granted access for the Spotfire app in Microsoft Azure.
