Description

   VisualizationPreferences

      AutoHideTableScrollbars

Specifies whether or not you want scroll bars in tabular visualizations to be displayed only on mouse-over. If set to False, then scroll bars will always be shown in tabular visualizations where some of the content does not fit on screen.

      AxesZoom

Specifies whether zooming should be Automatic or require the use of Manual zoom sliders, when creating a new visualization.

      AxisTitleFont

Lets you specify font settings for the axis titles, to be used when printing.

      AxisTitleScatterPlot3DFont

Lets you specify font settings for the 3D scatter plot axis titles.

      CoverPageVisible

Specifies whether or not a cover page should be created by default when creating a new analysis.

      DefaultAntiAlias

Only applicable when Hardware acceleration has been switched off. Specifies whether or not to render smooth lines and markers using anti-aliasing. Setting to False may increase the performance of the visualization rendering.

      DefaultInitialVisualization

Specifies whether a visualization should be created by default each time a new data table is loaded into Spotfire, and which visualization should be created. By default, no visualization is created. If you have specified that a visualization should be created, note that the initial visualization will always be a map chart when map data is loaded into Spotfire.

For native Spotfire visualizations, use the IDs listed in the table below, and enter the ID in the text field. To use a visualization mod as initial visualization, make sure the visualization mod is pinned to the Visualizations flyout, then follow the steps below to copy the ID.

  1. Open the Visualization types flyout.

  2. Locate and right-click the visualization of interest.

  3. Select Copy visualization ID to clipboard from the menu that opens.

  4. Open Administration manager and locate the DefaultInitialVisualization preference.

  5. Paste the ID you just copied into the text field.

Note: If a user does not have access to the specified visualization, then no visualization will be displayed when new data is loaded. Instead the Data in analysis flyout will open, which is also the default behavior. For example, a user might not have access to a specific visualization due to how the licenses are configured, or because the user is running a web client and the specified initial visualization is not supported in web clients. Note also that third party visualizations are not supported as initial visualizations.

      DefaultMobileLayoutWidth

Specifies in pixels the default width breakpoint at which a switch to a mobile-friendly layout takes place. When the screen width falls below this breakpoint, the visualizations on a page are placed on top of each other.

      DescriptionFont

Lets you specify font settings for descriptions in visualizations.

      DetailsOnDemandVisible

Specifies whether or not the Details-on-Demand should be open when creating a new analysis.

      FilterPanelVisible

      HardwareAcceleration

Specifies whether or not hardware graphics acceleration should be enabled. Hardware acceleration should only be disabled if you experience odd problems relating to graphics in Spotfire. If disabling hardware acceleration alleviates the problem, you may have some issues with your graphics card or its software drivers. Try updating these and see if you can enable hardware acceleration again, as this greatly improves performance of Spotfire.

      LegendFont

Lets you specify default font settings for the legend.

      LimitingMarkingsEmptyBehavior

Specifies the default behavior of details visualizations when no marking is available in the master visualizations.

The available options are ShowAll, ShowEmpty and ShowMessage.

Lets you specify a default message to show in details visualizations when no marking is available in the master visualizations.

Tip: You may want to use this preference together with the ShowMessage setting for the LimitingMarkingsEmptyBehavior preference above.

      LimitingMarkingsEmptyMessageFont

Lets you specify the default font for messages shown in details visualizations when no marking is available in the master visualizations.

      LinesAndCurvesFont

Lets you specify font settings for lines and curves labels.

Lets you specify the max number of values to show per legend item in the legend. The value you set here takes effect for new visualizations; existing ones remain unchanged. The number you specify here must be between 1 and 250. The default is 50.

A user can also set this max number in Spotfire under Tools > Options > Visualizations.

      MarkedColor

Specifies which color should be used as default for marked items in visualizations.

      NumberedTabTitles

      PageNavigationMode

Allows you to select whether to use titled tabs, step-by-step mode, or history arrows as default navigation mode when creating new analyses. Alternatively, the navigation can be turned off.

TitledTabs: Shows all pages as separate tabs, which can be dragged and dropped to change the order of the pages.

StepByStep: Shows all pages as numbered links to support a specific flow throughout the analysis.

HistoryArrows: Use this mode if you want to create your own flow throughout the analysis by adding actions directly on the pages. Arrows are available for navigation to previously visited pages.
