Collection and shape settings
When creating a new shape collection or editing an existing one, you can configure its collection and shape settings.
In the Collection settings tab, you can edit the name and add a description for the collection.
In the Shape settings tab, select the shape you want to configure.

adds shapes to the collection
- New shapes - opens the file explorer and uploads image files.
- Reuse shapes - browses your existing collections to reuse shapes.

Anchor position - determines where the data point should lie. For example, for a pin needle, the anchor point could be at the tip of the needle, for a triangle, it could be in the center of the shape. Click the place in the image where you want to position the anchor point. To reset the anchor point to the center of the shape, click
.
The anchor point that you specify here is used as the default whenever this shape is used. You can also change the anchor point for the current visualization only. See Changing the marker shape for more information.
- Keywords - adds keywords to your shapes to make it easier to search for them. Separate them by semicolons.

Coloring - determines how your custom shape
should behave in combination with coloring.
- Original - shows the original colors of the custom image and does not react to coloring.
- Combined - combines the colors of the shape and the colors of the visualization. This can either be the base color of the visualization or the colors configured under Color by.
- Outlines - uses the shape as a mask and is only colored according to the coloring of the visualization.
- Delete - deletes the selected shape from the collection. In analyses that use this shape, the shape will be in the state it was when the analysis was last saved.
- Replace image file - replaces the image file for the selected shape. This affects all visualizations that use this shape.
- Advanced settings - the collection ID uniquely identifies a shape collection, and a shape ID identifies a shape. The ID ensures that when a collection or a shape is changed, the collection or shape is updated with the changes everywhere it is used.
