Spotfire® User Guide

Managing external logins

Some functionality that can be used in visualizations require authentication with an identity provider. For example, this can be used to log in to gain access to geodata from external sources, and use them in a WMS or TMS layer in a map chart.

About this task

When you add information from an external system to an analysis, the Identity provider name and the Issuer URI are saved and can be reviewed in the Manage external logins dialog.

Before you begin

To authenticate with an identity provider, your Spotfire environment and the external system (for example, the WMS or TMS server) from which you want to access data must be configured to use your identity provider. See Authentication with an identity provider (OAuth2) to access external systems for more information.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, select Visualizations > Manage external logins.
  2. In the dialog, review the currently used External logins.
You can click on each row to expand it and see more information. Click Log in to log in again if the session has expired.
  3. Click Close when you are done.

Example

See Adding a WMS layer and Adding a TMS layer for more information and links to examples of map services.
