Spotfire® User Guide

Sharing analyses

You can share your insights with others from the library, from an analysis, and from inside a visualization.

Share an entire analysis

If you want your colleague to open an analysis you have created and saved in the library, you can copy a link to the analysis and then share the entire analysis without any modifications by sending the link in an email. Your colleague can then click on the link to log in and access your analysis in the library. If your colleague has access to the installed client, you can also download the analysis as a DXP file and then send the file to your colleague instead.

Sharing analyses with data sources and connections

When creating analyses to be used by others you must always think about their access to the data sources in use. Always make sure the end users of your analysis have access to the same data sources as you do. See also Creating analyses for others. Permissions to analyses, data connections and information links are handled on a folder level in an on-premises environment.

If all users do not have access to all of the original data sources, you might need to save some parts of your data tables stored in the analysis. There can also be user authentication limitations directly on the data source itself.

Personalized data

Data tables based on custom queries or information links can be configured to use parameters for personalized queries, so that all end users of the analysis get access to different subsets of the data. See Custom queries and Personalized information links for more information. It is also possible to load different data for each user when using scheduled updates.

Share selected parts of an analysis

If you would rather choose a few points of interest in an analysis to share with others you can do so. By creating a PDF with some interesting visualizations or pages, you can share your insights with others without having to consider whether they can log into Spotfire or not.
