Sorting bar segments by value

You can sort the bar segments within stacked bars by height.

About this task

The highest segment within a bar is placed at the base, and the lowest segment at the top.

Before you begin

A stacked bar chart, or a 100% stacked bar chart, is created.

Procedure

Open the visualization properties for the bar chart and locate the section that handles sorting.
In the Visualization properties dialog of the installed client you find the sorting settings on the Appearance tab:

In the web client properties popover, the sorting is located under Layout and sorting:

In the visualization properties panel, sorting bar segments by value is located under the Color by section.
Select the Sort bar segments by value check box.

Results

The bar segments are sorted by height within each bar.

Note: If you want to sort the bars the other way around, that is, place the lowest segment at the base of the bar and the highest segment at the top, select also the Reverse bar segment order (or Reverse order) check box.
