Spotfire® User Guide

The Add-ons and Demos browsers

From the Files and data flyout you have easy access to add-ons and demos on the Spotfire Community. You can add visualizations and actions to your analysis, or open demo analyses, and save any of them locally or in the library.

Before you begin

  • To open, add, or save add-ons or demos from the community via the Files and data flyout, you must have a Spotfire Community account. Go to https://spotfi.re/community to register for a free account.
  • The Add-ons browser is available if you have the Add-ons browser license feature. To download and configure add-ons classified as Industry Pro add-ons, you must also have the Spotfire Industry Pro license, and the Configure Industry Pro add-ons license feature. Industry Pro add-ons are supported by Spotfire and labeled in the browser.
  • An administrator can use the preference Show community add-ons to specify whether add-ons that are not supported by Spotfire should also be available alongside the supported ones in the Add-ons browser.
  • An administrator can use the preference Show demos, available under Application preferences, to specify whether the Demos browser should be available in the Files and data flyout.
  • To access add-ons and demos in the web client, an administrator must register the Spotfire Server as a Spotfire Community client. See Configuring Spotfire Web Clients for OAuth2 with Spotfire Community in the Spotfire® Server and Environment - Installation and Administration guide for more information.

Before you begin

Make sure data is loaded into the analysis.

Procedure

  1. Open the Files and data flyout and go to Add-ons.
  2. Optionally, select the Visualizations tab or the Actions tab, depending on what kind of add-on you want to use.
  3. Locate the add-on, and open the menu to the right on the item . Optionally, add filters at the top of the flyout to limit the number of add-ons shown.

If you chose Add to analysis for an action, the Actions flyout opens and the action you selected is added to the flyout. To learn more, see Running actions from the Actions flyout or the library.
