Spotfire® User Guide

Using personalized views for all web client users

Analyses are usually configured so that each individual web client user can continue where they left off from one time to another, when working with an analysis in the web client.

About this task

For example, a user can open the analysis in the web client, change the view (by filtering out some data, for instance), close the analysis, and then open the analysis again with the same filter settings. This is sometimes referred to as remembered states.

However, you can switch off this functionality, so that all web client users always start from the same state when opening the analysis.

Before you begin

You can only change the properties for an analysis in the installed client.

Procedure

  1. In the installed client, open the analysis and select File > Document properties.
Tip: You can also change the setting for an analysis in the library without actually opening the analysis from the Document tab in the Edit Properties dialog.
  2. Go to the Library tab.
  3. Locate Remember personalized view for each web client user and select or clear the check box.

Results

If the check box is selected, you allow users to continue where they left off from one time to another. If the check box is cleared, the personalized view is not remembered.
Note: To make sure this works as expected, you must define key columns for all the data tables in the analysis even if they are embedded.
