Migration and compatibility

There are no migration issues with Version 1.0.1 of the Spotfire® for Android app.

Version 1.0.1 of Spotfire for Android requires the following.

  • Android version 4.4 or later with Google Play Services installed.
  • A connection1 to TIBCO Spotfire® Server version 7.7 or later, or a license for TIBCO Spotfire® Cloud.
  • Basic authentication (user name and password).

There are no known restrictions on the type of connection (such as VPN). If the mobile device can connect to the server from a web browser (over HTTP or HTTPS), the Spotfire® for Android app should also be able to connect. Because the app connects using dedicated web services, any security appliances or reverse proxies between the app and the server must be configured properly to allow those requests and responses to work.
