Adding a connection to a Spotfire Server

You can use the mobile application to add a library from TIBCO Spotfire® Server that you access from your mobile device. You can add as many Spotfire Server connections as needed.

Perform these steps in the Spotfire app on your Android mobile device. If you need a connection to a Spotfire Server but have not yet set one up, see Configure your mobile device to run Spotfire.

Prerequisites

  • You must have a wifi or data connection to the library.
  • You must have login credentials to the Spotfire Server containing the library.
  • You must have the web address for the library.
    Example:
    https://myserver.example.com/spotfire
Tip: You can test the web address in a desktop web browser to make sure it is correct. If you do not know the web address, talk to your server administrator.

Procedure

  1. From the app, tap the three-line menu icon (three line menu).
    The sidebar is displayed.
  2. Tap the connection arrow (connection arrow).

A list of the current connections is displayed.

  3. Tap Add Library.

The Add Server dialog box is displayed.

  4. Provide the full web address for the Spotfire library.
    Example:
    https://myserver.example.com/spotfire

  5. Optional: Provide a Server Display Name to display in the sidebar.
If you do not provide a server display name, the server address is displayed in the sidebar.
  6. Provide your User Name and Password.
These credentials should be those that you use to log in to Spotfire.

Result

You should now see the library server listed in the sidebar menu. The app attempts to connect and display the library of items.
