Creating a Stack

The following procedure is used to create a stack using the WebSphere components.

Procedure

  1. In the Silver Fabric Administration Tool, select Stacks > Stacks.
  2. Select Create New Stack from the Global Actions list.
  3. Enter the stack name in the Name field. The description field is optional.
  4. Click the [+] next to the Components label. In the component chooser it reveals, select the component or components you want in the Available Components list, then click [>>] to transfer them to the Selected Components list.
  5. Optional: Set the minimum, maximum, priority and rules of your components in the Policies section.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Select Publish Stack from the Actions list for the stack you just created.

Result

Your clustered WebSphere Application is now ready. To run the Application, you must activate the stack you created. You can do this manually by selecting Stacks > Stacks > Run Stack in Manual Mode from the new Actions list of the Stacks, or automatically through a schedule-based Policy change.
