Recommended Broker: Dual 1.0 GHz UltraSPARCIII, 4 GB RAM. 200 GB+ free disk space. ================================================================================ Software Requirements Third-party Software: * Java Library Requirements Silver Fabric requires a Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE) JDK or JRE installed on the Silver Fabric Broker machine. Also, each Client system requires a copy of the J2SE JDK or JRE. One of the following Sun Java JDK or JREs is required for all components: Java SE 7 Note that Java SE 6 is supported as a Grid Library for Enablers, but is not supported for Brokers and Engines. Sun's JDKs and JREs are available at http://java.sun.com. Running or hosting other applications in the same Java VM as Silver Fabric is not supported. If you are running a dual-product Grid, ensure that Engines are updated to use a JDK compatible with both products; this does not happen automatically. For example, GridServer 6.1 can use a Java 6 or Java 7 JDK. Silver Fabric 5.6 requires a Java 7 JDK. In order for Engines to work for both products, Engines must use a Java 7 JDK. * GNU Tar Solaris systems require GNU tar to unarchive the Silver Fabric installation and SDK. * Web Browser The following browsers are supported for accessing the Silver Fabric Administration Tool on the Broker: Internet Explorer 8.0, 9.0, or 10.0. Mozilla Firefox latest stable version. Google Chrome latest stable version. Apple Safari 5, 5.1, or 6. The browser must be able to communicate with the Broker machine. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled. * Reporting Database The following databases are supported as a Silver Fabric reporting database: Oracle 11g Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 Microsoft SQL 2010 Microsoft SQL 2012 Sybase ASE 15 MySQL 5 or newer PostgreSQL 9 or newer * VMWare The VMWare Asset Manager supports the following versions of VMWare: VMware vSphere 4.0 VMware vSphere 5.0 VMWare is supported on the following platforms: RHEL 4, 5, 6; SLES 10, 11; Solaris 10 x86 (64-bit only) Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 ================================================================================ Network Infrastructure Requirements You must configure your network to meet requirements in these areas: hostname resolution, proxy configuration, network bandwidth, and Web browser. Hostname Resolution Silver Fabric uses HTTP for peer-to-peer communication between Silver Fabric components. Each component identifies itself to other components using its IP address or its DNS name. In general, the Silver Fabric Broker requires a fixed IP address assigned to it, and that IP address must be resolvable through DNS. Proxy Configuration Silver Fabric does not require a proxy server, but communication between Silver Fabric Engines, Clients, and Brokers can take place through both firewalls and proxy servers. Network Bandwidth Moving large quantities of data through the Silver Fabric system requires the physical network infrastructure to support it. ================================================================================ TIBCO Product Support Check the TIBCO Product Support web site at https://support.tibco.com for product information that was not available at release time.
