Viewing the Topology of a Domain

A topology describes the artifacts in a domain. For example, if you consider the domain, the topology comprises the SPM servers that are in a fault-tolerant mode, the SPM dashboard servers that are in a load-balanced mode, the EMS server(s), and the database server belonging to the domain.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the SPM server, Dashboard server, TIBCO Enterprise Administrator server, EMS server, and the Admin agent server are running.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the TIBCO Enterprise Administrator.
  2. Click the Service Performance Manager card.
  3. From the Domain Management pane, select a domain.
The Domain Topology is displayed. The following details are displayed in the Topology View:
    Components of the Domain Details
EMS Server The URL of the EMS Server is displayed. Details such as JNDI Context Factory, Queue Connection Factory, Queue details for facts, query, and outbound messages are displayed.
Database Server The URL of the Database Server and the name of the database are displayed. Details such as JDBC Initial connection size, maximum connection size, database batch size, and query batch size are displayed.
SPM Servers The SPM Servers of a domain participating in a fault tolerance mode are displayed in this card.

The URL of the active SPM Server is displayed in blue as a link. You can click on the link and drill down to viewing further details of the server. It also shows details on the facts processed per second, RAM used, CPU used, and JDBC connections used.

A passive server is indicated by showing the state,Passive below its label. In case of the passive server, the details of facts processing per second is not displayed. The rest of the details are displayed. You cannot click on the passive servers to see further details.

If the server is running, the status displayed is Running. If the server is unreachable, the status displayed is Down. Both the active and passive servers can be Running or Down at any given point in time. The IP address and remote JMX connection URLs are also shown on the SPM Server card.

Dashboard Server The load balancer URL of the Dashboard server is displayed. In addition, URLs of the individual dashboard server instances are displayed. Each dashboard server instance card shows the access URL and details such as RAM usage and CPU usage.
Note: If you are on another tab or window of the UI, from the left navigation bar, click Topology to get to the Domain Topology view.
