Use
3.0 text area |
In TIBCO Spotfire 3.1, the text area was changed from its old behavior in order to be able to add property controls and script action controls. However, the function links to tools previously available in the text area could no longer be added to a text area. Select this option if you want to be able to create text areas which behave as they did in TIBCO Spotfire 3.0 and older. All new text areas within the document will then use the 3.0 style and functionality. Note that while this check box is selected you cannot add script action controls and property controls in new text areas. Clear the check box to create new text areas that include the 3.1 functionality. No text areas previously created within the document will be affected by the change, only the newly created ones. This means that you can create documents where some text areas use the old style and some use the new style. See also How to Use the Text Area. |
Use
3.2 bookmark panel |
In TIBCO Spotfire 3.3, a new version of the bookmarks functionality was created in order to allow the capturing of visualization properties along with the previously available settings for page, filtering, marking, etc. (See What are Bookmarks? for information about the new bookmarks.) However, for compatibility reasons, you can go back to using the 3.2 version of the bookmarks instead. Select this option if you want to use the bookmarks panel that was available in TIBCO Spotfire 3.2 and older. |
Show
Sharing Routines tab for data tables |
In TIBCO Spotfire 5.5, the Scheduled Updates tab was added to the Data Table Properties dialog, and replaced the functionality that was previously available on the Sharing Routines tab. When the new tab was added, the Sharing Routines tab was also removed from the Data Table Properties dialog. Select this option if you want to make the Sharing Routines tab available again in the Data Table Properties. Note that this will not remove the Scheduled Updates tab. By selecting this option both tabs will be available next to each other. |
Use
5.5 map chart |
In TIBCO Spotfire 6.0, a new version of the map chart was created in order to allow multiple layers in the map chart and to give access to map layers based on tiled web maps. (See What is a Map Chart? for information about the new map chart.) However, for compatibility reasons, you can go back to using the 5.5 version of the map chart instead. Select this option if you want to be able to create new map charts of the type that was available in TIBCO Spotfire 5.5 and older. Note that map charts in analyses created before version 6.0 will be of the old type even when the analysis is opened in TIBCO Spotfire 6.0. You must manually switch 5.5 type map charts if you want them to be stored in the new format. See How to Use the 5.5 Map Chart for more information. |
