Connector for Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services

On this page, you find information about downloading and installing the drivers you need to be able connect to data sources with the connector for Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services in Spotfire.

Preparations

Before downloading and installing any driver software for use with this connector, read the system requirements for the connector for your version of Spotfire. Make sure that your database version and driver version is supported in your version of Spotfire.

Remember that additional requirements and third party dependencies might apply for using the drivers. Refer to the official documentation from the driver vendor for more information.

You can use the Spotfire Connector for Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) to connect to the following data source types:


Driver information

 

Spotfire 14.2 and later

In Spotfire 14.2 and later, you can use the Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services connector without installing any additional software on your computer. The required driver is included in Spotfire.

Spotfire 14.1 and earlier

In Spotfire 14.1 and earlier, to use the Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services connector, you must install the ADOMD.NET driver on your computer.

The driver is included in the Microsoft® SQL Server® Feature Pack, which is available for download from Microsoft:  

  1. In a web browser, go to Microsoft's download page for the Feature Pack corresponding to your version of Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services:

  2. Click Download.

  3. In the list of components, select the version of the file SQL_AS_ADOMD.msi appropriate for your environment (x64 or x86).

  4. To start the download, click Next.
