Connector for Teradata Aster

On this page, you find information about downloading and installing the drivers you need to be able connect to data sources with the connector for Teradata Aster in Spotfire.

Preparations

Before downloading and installing any driver software for use with this connector, read the system requirements for the connector for your version of Spotfire. Make sure that your database version and driver version is supported in your version of Spotfire.

Remember that additional requirements and third party dependencies might apply for using the drivers. Refer to the official documentation from the driver vendor for more information.

Supported data sources

You can use the Spotfire Connector for Teradata Aster to connect to the following data source types:


Driver information

To use the Teradata Aster connector, you must install the Aster ODBC Driver on your computer.

Downloading the Aster ODBC driver

Prerequisites: To access the download, you must have a Teradata account, which you can create on the Teradata website.

  1. In a web browser, go to the Teradata download page.

  2. In the list of downloads, locate and download the latest version of the Aster Client Tools appropriate for your environment.

  3. To start the download, sign in with your Teradata account.

  4. Unpack the .zip file that you downloaded, and in the folder structure, locate the installer file nClusterODBCInstaller.

  5. Run the installer and follow the instructions in the setup assistant to complete the installation.

Note: When you obtain third-party software or services, it is your responsibility to ensure you understand the license terms associated with such third-party software or services and comply with such terms.

Note: Some versions of the Aster Client Tools package do not include the nClusterODBCInstaller file. If you cannot find this file, try downloading a different version of the Aster Client Tools.
