Adding a Data Source

When you identify a compatible data source to use with TIBCO Spotfire Metrics, you can connect the data source in Spotfire Metrics Modeler.

Prerequisites

You must use a supported data source containing the data for modeling. Review the list of supported data sources at Data Sources for TIBCO Spotfire Metrics Services before you proceed.

Perform this task in the Data Sources tab.

Procedure

Click Add Data Source.

In the New Data Source dialog, provide the following information.

Option	Description
Title	The data set title, to appear in the Data Sources tab. The title can contain spaces and special characters.
Description	The description should provide information about the data source type and, if appropriate, the database. The description can contain special characters.
Data Source Type	From the list, select the type of data source. Depending on your selection, you might need to provide additional information, such as an input connection string or log in information. See Data Sources for TIBCO Spotfire Metrics Services for a list of supported data sources and a description of required additional information.

Click Test Connection, and then click Save.

Result

The connection is completed, and the data source appears on the list. The green check mark indicating successful connection status appears only when you click Test Connection listed below the database title in the Title column.
