Opening a Connection

If you want to connect Spotfire Metrics to a server, follow these steps in Spotfire Metrics Modeler.

Perform this task in the Connection Manager, which is found by clicking the File tab. The Connection Manager is also displayed each time you start the Spotfire Metrics Modeler.

Procedure

In the Connection Manager, click Open.

Note: Clicking Open prevents the user from going back to the previous workspace, even if previously logged in .
Enter User Name and Password. When using a LDAP account, unless the user is a local admin, the User Name must include the domain (for example, Domain\Username).
Click Log In.

Result

Spotfire Metrics is connected to the server.

Note: Depending upon the state of the server, establishing a successful connection may take several minutes. During this time you will not be able to connect to any other server and must wait for the log in dialog.
