Supported data sources

For some connectors, you have full authoring and access capabilities in Spotfire Business Author. This means you can set up connections to the corresponding data sources directly in the web client, to add data to a new analysis or one that you are working on.

For some other connectors, you only have access capabilities in the Spotfire web client. This means that connections to the corresponding data sources must be authored in an installed client. You can then continue to work on analyses that contain connections to these data sources in the web client. You can also use connections that have been saved to the library.

Supported connectors in Spotfire Business Author

In the on-premise version of Spotfire Business Author, most connectors that are available in the installed client can be used.

You do not need to install any drivers on the computer that you will access the web client from. However, the connectors you want to use must be turned on for your web client instance and the data source drivers must be installed on the computer on which the web clients are running. Contact your Spotfire administrator if you need access to more connectors in your web client instance.
