Named user licensing
The named user product license works closely with feature licensing. This topic covers this relationship, and how you can understand it to make best use of your named-user licenses.
Named users of product licenses should follow this guide for understanding which license features they have access to.

Named users who need access to Spotfire Analyst functionality should belong to groups with the following licenses:
- TIBCO Spotfire Analyst
- TIBCO Spotfire Advanced Analytics
- TIBCO Spotfire Business Author
- TIBCO Spotfire Consumer
- TIBCO Spotfire Enterprise Player
Named users who need access to Spotfire Business Author functionality should belong to groups with the following licenses:
- TIBCO Spotfire Advanced Analytics
- TIBCO Spotfire Business Author
- TIBCO Spotfire Consumer
- TIBCO Spotfire Enterprise Player
Named users who need access to Spotfire Consumer functionality should belong to groups with the following licenses:
- TIBCO Spotfire Consumer
- TIBCO Spotfire Enterprise Player
The features included with the Spotfire Business Author and Spotfire Consumer product license are a subset of the features included with the Spotfire Analyst product license. That is, a user with a named-user product license for Spotfire Analyst can also use all features provided in Spotfire Business Author and Spotfire Consumer. However, the reverse is not true: Users with only Spotfire Business Author named-user licenses cannot use the features specified only for the Spotfire Analyst license.
Ensuring compliance
Spotfire administrators are responsible for ensuring that the number of named users with access to Analyst, Business Author, and Consumer functionality is not larger than the contract allows.
