Starting and stopping Information Services
You can start and stop Information Services on a Spotfire Server instance in the web administration pages.
About this task
Note: If you have configured Information Services to run in-process on
the Spotfire Server, you cannot start or stop Information Services manually or
monitor the process status on the Nodes & Services page.

Starting the Information Services process
To use information links to access data, Information Services must be running. If Information Services is not running on a Spotfire Server instance, you can manually start the process.
About this task
Note: When you restart a Spotfire Server, the Information Services
process starts automatically if it was running before the restart.
If an Information Services process stops unexpectedly, a number of restart attempts are performed. If the restarts are unsuccessful, you must manually start the process.
Procedure
Stopping the Information Services process
To stop Information Services on a Spotfire Server, you can either stop the process immediately or schedule a time when the process should stop.
Procedure
- On the Spotfire Server web administration pages, click Nodes & Services.
- On the Network tab, under Servers, select the Spotfire Server that you want to stop the Information Services process on.

In the
Services pane on the right, select the
Information Services service.
Option Description Stop immediately To stop Information Services right away, select Shut down all > Immediately. Schedule stop time To schedule a time for Information Services to stop, select Shut down all > Schedule, and enter the amount of hours and minutes after which the process should stop. The Information Services process will stop when there are no information link jobs running or, at the latest, after the given amount of time has elapsed.
