Spotfire® Server and Environment - Installation and Administration

Starting and stopping Information Services

You can start and stop Information Services on a Spotfire Server instance in the web administration pages.

About this task

Note: If you have configured Information Services to run in-process on the Spotfire Server, you cannot start or stop Information Services manually or monitor the process status on the Nodes & Services page.

Starting the Information Services process

To use information links to access data, Information Services must be running. If Information Services is not running on a Spotfire Server instance, you can manually start the process.

About this task

Note: When you restart a Spotfire Server, the Information Services process starts automatically if it was running before the restart.

If an Information Services process stops unexpectedly, a number of restart attempts are performed. If the restarts are unsuccessful, you must manually start the process.

Procedure

  1. On the Spotfire Server web administration pages, click Nodes & Services.
  2. On the Network tab, under Servers, select the Spotfire Server that you want to start the Information Services process on.
  3. In the Services pane on the right, select the Information Services service.
  4. Click Start all.
Note: The Information Services service of a Spotfire Server can only have a single instance, so Start all starts that one instance.

Stopping the Information Services process

To stop Information Services on a Spotfire Server, you can either stop the process immediately or schedule a time when the process should stop.
