Defining Data: Date/Time

Select the Date/Time tab of the Defining Data dialog box to access options to define the time period for what data will be returned for analysis.

Apply to
The Apply to group box provides a selection of units and ranges of date and time criteria for filtering. A selection can be made per individual query or all queries defined within the Data Configuration on which the Analysis Configuration is based.
All queries
This option button is only available when the underlying Data Configuration contains 2 or more queries with Time Stamp columns. Select the All queries option button to apply date/time criteria for filtering to all queries within the Data Configuration.
Selected query
This option button is only available when the underlying Data Configuration contains 2 or more queries with Time Stamp columns. To specify criteria for filtering per individual query, select the Selected query option button, and select a query from the adjacent list (which lists all queries available within the Data Configuration). You can choose a time range for the data returned individually for each query that contains a time-stamp variable. See also Target Type.
Date/Time interval
Four boxes are available under Date/Time interval to specify the initial interval for which data will be collected.
From
The two From boxes display the date and time that define the earliest data to be obtained in the initial data transfer.
To
The two To boxes display the date and time that define the latest data to be obtained in the initial data transfer.
Date/Time specification
Following are descriptions of the options below Date/Time specification:
No initial data
When this option button is selected, no data will be retrieved initially when the Analysis Configuration is launched. When the Analysis Configuration is run, Statistica opens with an empty data file.
User defined
Select this option button when you want to type in the date and time directly using the From/To boxes. Note. For an IQC Analysis Configuration, typically you would not select a user-defined range of dates to be used in conjunction with auto-updating (an option on the dialog displayed when you click the Next button). Instead, one of the other Date/Time specifications is used to define the initial transfer dynamically depending upon the date and time that the Analysis Configuration is run.
Today
Select this option button to automatically change the From and To boxes to include the range from 12:00:00 AM to 11:59:59 PM of the current day.
This week
Select this option button to automatically change the From and To boxes to include the range from 12:00:00 AM of the previous Sunday to 11:59:59 PM of the current day.
This month
Select this option button to automatically change the From and To boxes to include the range from 12:00:00 AM of the first day of the current month to 11:59:59 PM of the current day.
This quarter
Select this option button to automatically change the From and To boxes to include the range from 12:00:00 AM of the first day of the current quarter to 11:59:59 PM of the current day. The quarters begin on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.
Data from last
Adjacent to this option are two boxes to provide a numeric entry and a choice of Second, Minute, Hour, Day, Week, Month, and Quarter.
Example
The settings on this tab define initial time range of data returned when an Analysis Configuration is launched. For example, you may want the ability to call up a set of charts that summarize a set of processes for the past hour. By selecting the Data from last option button and selecting 1 Hour, the Analysis Configuration is defined to always return the data for the past hour prior to the time at which the Analysis Configuration was launched. After creating this Analysis Configuration, you are able to select it from the list of available Analysis Configurations when selecting the option to Run Analysis/Report.
Use all data available
Select this check box to remove date and time from the criteria so that data is retrieved regardless of the date/time.
Cancel
Click the Cancel button to cancel the running of the Analysis Configuration.
Next
Click the Next button to continue editing the details of the Analysis Configuration and edit the Defining Auto Updating Properties.
Finish
Click the Finish button to complete the option selected and run the Analysis Configuration.
