Data Entry Setup: Inputs
Select the Inputs node within a Data Entry Setup in the Enterprise Manager tree view to display these options in the properties page.
Show Automatic Labels
Select this check box to display the Automatic Labels box. Any Automatic Labels associated with the Data Entry Setup will be listed in this box. When a Label is automatic, the user will only need to enter a value for that label for the first sample in a Data Entry session. Subsequent samples will use the label value entered for the first sample. Until the user logs off from the Data Entry session, the Automatic Label's value will be assigned to all collected samples.
- Add
- This option is displayed when the Show Automatic Labels check box is selected. Click the Add button to display the Select Labels dialog box, from which a label can be added.
- Remove
- This option is displayed when the Show Automatic Labels check box is selected. Click the Remove button to delete the highlighted Automatic Label.
- Blind data entry
- This option is displayed when the Show Automatic Labels check box is selected. The option is enabled only if the Data Entry Setup has Blind Data Entry enabled. Select an Automatic Label and click the Blind data entry button to display the Blind Data Entry options dialog box, which contains options to further define Blind Data Entry Setups.
- Locate
- This option is displayed when the Show Automatic Labels check box is selected. Click this button when an Automatic Label is selected to locate the Automatic Label in the Enterprise Manager tree view.
- Up and Down Arrows
- The order of the Labels in the Automatic Labels box represents the order in which they will be collected. Use the up and down arrow buttons to reorder the data entry inputs in the Data Entry Setup.
Labels/Characteristics
Any labels or characteristics associated with the profile are listed in this box. The Required/Type column contains check boxes that apply only to Web Data Entry. When a check box is selected, the label or characteristic is required, and the respective data must be entered.
- Add label
- Click this button to display the Select Label dialog box, from which a label can be added.
- Add characteristic
- Click this button to display the Select a characteristic dialog box, from which a characteristic can be added.
- Add separator/link
- Click this button to display the Separator/Link dialog box where you can add a caption for the separator line, which visually groups labels and/or characteristics together, or add an HTLML link. This option applies only to Web Data Entry.
- Remove
- Click this button to remove the selected Label, Characteristic, or Separator.
- Edit
- Click this button to edit a Separator, Label, or Characteristic. Click the Edit button when a Separator or Link is selected to display the Separator/Link dialog box, where you can change the caption of the separator or edit the link. Click the Edit button when a Label is selected to display the Label dialog box, which contains options to modify the Label. Click the Edit button when a Characteristic is selected to display the Characteristic dialog box, where you can change the Characteristic width in the Web Data Entry Form and enter a calculated formula for the Characteristic. The respective dialog boxes can also be accessed by double-clicking on the object. This option applies only to Web Data Entry.
- Blind data entry
- This option is enabled only if the Data Entry Setup has Blind Data Entry enabled. Select a Label or a Characteristic and click the Blind data entry button to display the Blind Data Entry options dialog box, which contains options to further define Blind Data Entry Setups.
