New HDFS Server

Right-click the Hadoop Distributed File Systems node in the tree view, and select New HDFS Server to display options to specify the URL and credentials to the HDFS server and to set Enterprise user/group permissions to determine who can access the connection and who can make edits. Users will make use of these connections by creating workflows or directly importing/exporting files within the HDFS cluster.

The following activities will be logged in the Enterprise Audit log, indicating who performed the action and when it was done:

  • Adding a new connection
  • Changing the properties of an existing connection
  • Changing the permissions of the connection
  • Deleting an existing connection
Name
Enter the server name.
Description
Enter an optional description.
URL
Enter the URL for the HDFS cluster.
User name
Enter the user name for authentication to access the HDFS Server when using simple authentication. Leave this field blank if your Hadoop server does not require authentication.
Use Integrated Windows Authentication
Select this check box to authenticate using the Windows account of the current user. Integrated authentication requires the following:
  1. Windows Active Directory configured for Kerberos for authentication
  2. The HDFS system must have enabled security and configured its Kerberos system to be integrated with the Windows Active Directory
  3. Internet Explorer must have the option Enable Windows Integrated Authentication enabled

Clear this check box if the Hadoop server does not have security enabled; then the system will use any passed username for HDFS simple authentication.
