DES Import dialog box

The import operation looks for an object type.

When the files are imported back into Statistica, the program can identify the file names and recognize the object type(s) (Characteristic, Label, or Data Entry Setup) to import them correctly.

The base object types to import are determined by the presence of one of the following "Template Version" strings in the selected Excel files.  If one of these template strings is not present in the selected Excel file, a log message is display and the file will be skipped.

Label Template Version: located in second row, first column. Identifies this as Label Excel file.

Characteristic Template Version: located in second row, first column. Identifies this as Characteristics Excel file.

DES Template Version: located on Header tab, first row, first column. Identifies this as Data Entry Setup file.

Version number

A Version Number is required for import to identify the kind of template. The initial template versions are defined as Version 1 in Statistica version 13.2. Future versions may add features that will increment the template version number.

Exceptions to object types  supported in this version

Limitations to data imported:

The following limitations apply to the data that can be imported in the initial release:

Characteristics: Only variable characteristics are supported.

Label types: Only label types of piece, sample, cause,  action and query are supported.

Additional Notes:

Import shall match by column name; names are defined as they are created on export

Import of strings and column names are not case-sensitive.

Any field that contains missing data/blanks will remain unchanged .

Audit Logging

If the System Options -> Versions and Approvals -> When committing changes prompt for and require a reason checkbox is checked, you are prompted for a reason. The supplied reason is maintained in the relevant entries of the audit log and in the version history of the new or updated objects.

Report

A Statistica Report window will detail all operations performed

Invalid or inconsistent data shall be reported in the Report window
