Customize - Keyboard Tab

Select the Keyboard tab of the Customize dialog box to access options to assign shortcut keys to commands. For example, you could assign CTRL+SHIFT+/ (i.e., CTRL+SHIFT+?) to the STATISTICA Help command on the Help menu. Pressing CTRL+SHIFT+/ would then launch Statistica Help.

Categories
The Categories box contains a list of the types of commands that are available in Statistica. These categories correspond with the various pull-down and shortcut menus used throughout Statistica. For example, the Plot-2D category contains the commands available from the 2D Plot shortcut menu. The All Commands option spans commands in all categories. To see the commands available in a specific category, click on the category and look at the Commands box. See also the Commands Overview.
Commands
This box lists the commands available in the highlighted category (see the Category box). To review a comprehensive list of commands, use the All Commands option in the Category box. To assign an accelerator key to a command, select the command in this list and type the keystrokes into the Press new shortcut key edit field.
Description
This box contains a brief description of the selected command.
Set accelerator for
By default, shortcut keys will launch their specified command regardless of which type of document is open; however, it is possible to set up shortcuts that only work when a specific document type is open. For example, you may want to assign the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+/ to the STATISTICA Help command when a spreadsheet, graph, report, or workbook is opened. However, you might want the same shortcut to open the Statistical Advisor when a Statistica analysis is active. In this box, you can choose for which document types the shortcut key will be active. Selecting Global will ensure that the shortcut key is active from any document type. Note that before you can set an accelerator for a specific document type, you must have that document type open (e.g., to assign CTRL+SHIFT+/ to the Statistical Advisor command when a Statistica analysis is active, you must first have an active Statistica analysis open). If no document types are open, then the only option in this list will be Global.
Document keys
This box lists the shortcut keys that are already assigned to the selected command for the selected type of document. You can add to this list by typing new keys in the Press new shortcut key field and clicking the Assign button. You can delete shortcut keys by highlighting them and clicking the Remove button. Note that this option is only available when a specific document type (e.g., report, workbook, graph, spreadsheet) has been selected in the Set accelerator for list box.
Global keys
This box lists the shortcut keys that are already assigned to the selected command. You can add to this list by typing new keys in the Press new shortcut key field and clicking the Assign button. You can delete shortcut keys by highlighting them and clicking the Remove button.
Press new shortcut key
In this edit field, type the shortcut key you want to use. Note that you can only use one letter for a shortcut key; however, you can precede the letter with CTRL, SHIFT, or ALT. To enter CTRL, SHIFT, or ALT, press the appropriate key on the keyboard and the key name will be entered for you (e.g., pressing the CTRL key will cause CTRL to appear in the edit field). Note that once you enter a shortcut key, a message will be displayed beneath this box stating to what command the key is currently assigned. If it is not currently assigned to any command, the message will read Assigned to: [Unassigned].
Assign
Once you have selected a command and entered the shortcut key in the Press new shortcut key field, click this button to assign the shortcut key to the command. The specified shortcut will then be displayed in either the Document keys or the Global keys box depending on the option selected in the Set accelerator for list box.
Remove
To unassign (or remove) a shortcut key, you must select the command in the Commands box, the document type in the Set accelerator for box, and the key in either the Document keys or the Global keys box. Once you have specified which command, document type, and key you want to remove, click the Remove button. Note that you cannot remove a global key unless Global has been specified in the Set accelerator for box. Likewise, to remove a key that is active only when a specific document is available (e.g., a spreadsheet), that document type must be selected in the Set accelerator for box.
Reset all
Click this button to return all shortcut keys to their original (default) settings. Note that resetting all will cause you to lose any shortcut keys you have added.
