PI Snapshot Data
- Select the PI tab. In the Data group.
- Click Start Snapshot to display the PI Snapshot Data dialog box.
Or
- Select the Home tab.
- In the File group, click the Open arrow.
- From the Open External Data - PI submenu, select Start Snapshot Data to display the PI Snapshot Data dialog box.
Use the options in this dialog to return a single PIValue (case in a spreadsheet) that represents the most recent value stored on the server.
To begin:
- Click the PI Logon button to display the PI Connection Manager and log on to the PI server.
- Click the Tag Search button to display the Tag Search dialog,
- Specify a basic, advanced, or alias search for the tags that will be used in the querying process.
Search Tags
After you have completed the tag search, the tags you have selected will be returned to this list box. When you click OK, the PI database will be queried and values will be returned for the tags shown here.
Poll Interval (sec)
Enter the interval (in seconds) in which snapshot data will be retrieved. For example, if you enter the default of 30, then every 30 seconds, the PI database will be queried and the most recently stored value (for the selected tags) will be retrieved.
Max Polled Events
In this box, enter the maximum number of polled events that you want to retrieve. When this number is reached, the snapshot data query will be ended. Note that you can also stop the snapshot search by selecting Stop Snapshot Data from the PI menu.
Metadata Var
Select this check box to include a metadata variable in the resulting data set. This variable will indicate whether the data are good or bad. When this option is cleared, bad data are automatically filtered (excluded) from the resulting spreadsheet.
Tag Search
Click this button to display the Tag Search dialog box, which is used to conduct a basic, advanced, or alias search. The results of this search will be used to populate the Search Tags box.
Load
Click the Load button to display the Load Tag Selections dialog box, where you can load a previously saved Search Tags list.
