Recalculate Spreadsheet Formulas
Use these options to recalculate a variable (or group of variables) based on the formulas entered into the Variable dialog box that corresponds to each variable.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Recalculate | Use the options in the Recalculate group box to determine which variable(s) are recalculated when you click the OK button. |
All variables | Select the All variables option button to simultaneously recalculate all variables containing formulas. |
Variable | Select the Variable option button to recalculate a single variable by specifying its name or number in the Variable box. Or, double-click on the Variable box and select a variable from the displayed list of current variables in the spreadsheet. |
Subset | By default, all cases are recalculated (the first and last case numbers in the data set are automatically entered in the From case and To case boxes), or, if a block is highlighted in the spreadsheet, only the cases included in the block will be recalculated (the first and last case numbers in the block are automatically be entered in the From case and To case boxes). However, should you want to recalculate a block of cases that is different from the default entries, type the case numbers in the From case and To case boxes. |
From case | Specify the first case (inclusive) in the block of cases to be recalculated in the From case box. |
To case | Specify the last case (inclusive) in the block of cases to be recalculated in the To case box. |
Auto-recalculate when the data change | Select the Auto-recalculate when the data change check box to automatically recalculate all of the spreadsheet formulas when the data are changed in the spreadsheet. This update is performed on a per-row basis; if a case has a variable value updated, then the values in the same case whose spreadsheet formulas depend on the changing value will be updated. However, if the value influences data in other cases, they will not be recalculated until the entire spreadsheet is recalculated. |
OK | After making your selections, click the OK button. |
Cancel | Click the Cancel button to close the dialog box. Any selections made will be disregarded. |
