How to Move Before Variable 1

One way to move and insert the values of a variable or block of variables before variable 1 is to use the drag-and-drop facilities in Statistica. To do this, first highlight the desired block. Then, move the cursor to one of the borders of the block where it changes into an arrow. Now, to move and insert the block, press SHIFT while dragging the block. Next, position the insertion bar between the case name column and the first variable column and release the mouse button to complete the insert. Note that this method does not move the selected variables (that is, their long value labels, formats, assignments of text/numerical values) but only the values of the selected block.

An alternative way to move and insert an entire variable or block of variables before variable 1, is to first move the variables after variable number 1 and then move variable number 1 to the right of the moved variables. See also: Moving Variables.
