Graphs of Input Data - Histogram

Ribbon bar. Select the Graphs tab. In the More group, click Input Data Graphs and from the menu, select Histogram...

Classic menus. From the Graphs - Graphs of Input Data submenu, select Histogram...

...to display a histogram (a graphical representation of a frequency table) of the values of the currently highlighted variable either with (select Normal Fit) or without (select Regular) a normal fit to the data.

If the selected variable is categorical (usually 10 or less categories), Statistica will use those categories as the histogram intervals. If the variable has either more than 10 categories or the values are non-integers (continuous), Statistica will divide the values into about 10 to 12 intervals based on the range of the values. These intervals are then used in the histogram.

You can also create a categorized histogram by selecting Histogram by... from the Graphs - Graphs of Input Data submenu. Many other types of histograms are available in Statistica's Graphs menu graphs. For a general overview of the graphics facilities in Statistica, see Graphs in Statistica.

Note: In order to visualize frequency distributions of values in cases (and not variables), select either the Graphs of Block Data - Custom Graph for Entire Row or the Graphs of Block Data - Custom Graph from Block by Row command from the spreadsheet shortcut menu (instead of transposing your data file).
