3D Custom Function Plots - Quick Tab

Graphical Analytic Techniques

Select the Quick tab of the 3D Custom Function Plots Startup Panel to specify the custom function to plot in your graph.

Name
The name of the function (if one is given) will be displayed in this field. To create (and name) a new function, enter a function in the Function box, then click the Add to List button.
Range
Use the boxes in this group box to specify the range for the custom function.
X Min, X Max
Specify here the range (i.e., minimum and maximum values) of the X variable for the custom function.
Y Min, Y Max
Specify here the range (i.e., minimum and maximum values) of the Y variable for the custom function.
Function
Enter the function you want to plot in this box. Note that as you type, a menu with possible characters or functions will appear. You can choose from any item on the menu, or type the function yourself. If you want to save this function for later use, you must add it to the function field in the Function Name Manager by clicking the Add to list button. It will not be automatically added. See user-defined functions for more details.

Add to list. If you want to create a function which can be saved and reused at a later time, click the Add to list button. The New Style dialog will then be displayed, in which you can specify a name for the function. The function can then be selected from the Function Name Manager and edited (see Function List).

Function list
Click the Function list button to display the Function Name Manager, in which you can create a new function and to edit, rename, or delete an existing function.
