Comparing Two Groups - Quick Tab

The Quick tab of the Comparing Two Groups dialog box contains the options described here.

Element Name Description
Wald-Wolfowitz runs test Click the Wald-Wolfowitz runs test button to display either the standard variable selection dialog box or the results of the Wald-Wolfowitz runs test (if you have already selected the variables). See Nonparametric Statistic Notes - Wald-Wolfowitz Runs Test for a detailed description of this nonparametric test.
Kolmogorov-Smirnov two-sample test Click the Kolmogorov-Smirnov two-sample test button to display either the standard variable selection dialog box or the results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov two-sample test (if you have already selected the variables). See Nonparametric Statistic Notes - Kolmogorov-Smirnov Two-Sample Test for a detailed description of this nonparametric test.

Mann-Whitney U test. Click the Mann-Whitney U test button to display either the standard variable selection dialog box or the results of the Mann-Whitney U test (if you have already selected the variables). See Nonparametric Statistic Notes - Mann-Whitney U Test for a detailed description of this nonparametric test.

Apply continuity correction. Select this check box to apply a continuity correction to the Mann-Whitney U test. This type of correction is commonly performed when a continuous distribution is used to approximate a discrete distribution.

Box & whisker plot by group The Box & whisker plots for all variables button is available only after Variables have been selected. Click the Box & whisker plot by group button to display the standard Select variables for box & whisker plot dialog box in which you select the variable to be broken down by the previously selected grouping variable. The box and whisker plot is a useful graphical method to compare the distribution of two or more variables. Both medians and quartiles, or means and related measures of dispersion can be plotted.
Categorized histograms by group The Categorized histograms by group button is available only after variables have been selected. Click the Categorized histograms by group button to display the standard variable selection dialog box. After you select variable(s), STATISTICA will display a categorized histogram of the distribution of the selected variable(s), separately (categorized) for each group.
