Tree Clustering Results - Advanced Tab

Select the Advanced tab of the Tree Clustering Results dialog box to access options to create homogenous groups based on continuous variables. See the Cluster Analysis Results topic for descriptions of the options in the right pane of the dialog box. Those options are available regardless of which tab is selected.

Element Name Description
Cluster quality Click this button to produce the Cluster quality statistics spreadsheet. This spreadsheet contains the statistics selected in the Select cluster quality statistics dialog box, displayed by clicking the Select statistics button.
From/to Use these options to set a lower and upper bound on the number of clusters when evaluating the cluster statistics.
Select statistics Click this button to display the Select cluster quality statistics dialog box, where you can select the statistics to be displayed in the Cluster quality statistics spreadsheet. At this time, only the Cubic clustering criterion,  Pseudo F, and Silhouette statistics are available.
Amalgamation schedule Click this button to produce a line graph of the linkage distances across consecutive steps of the linking process. This graph is useful for identifying plateaus where many clusters are formed at approximately the same linkage distance. This may indicate a natural "discontinuity" in terms of distances between the observed objects.
Amalgamation schedule Click this button to produce a spreadsheet with the amalgamation (linkage) schedule. The last column of the spreadsheet contains the linkage distances at which the respective clusters (as indicated in the respective rows) were formed.
Variables From the drop-down list, select either All Variables or one of the variables in the analysis for which to produce descriptive statistics.
Descriptive statistics Click this button to produce a spreadsheet of descriptive statistics for either all variables or for the selected variable in the drop-down list.
