Warning Lines

Click the Warning lines button on the Specs tab of the Results dialog box to display the Warning lines dialog box, which is used to specify warning lines. These warning lines can be drawn in the chart in terms of sigma, a specific probability or a specific value. Note that common warning lines specifications are used for all sets (unlike the control limits, which can be different in different sets of samples).

Specify in terms of

Multiples of sigma

Select this option button to specify that the upper or lower warning line be calculated by multiplying by sigma.

p (normal probabilities)

Select this option button to specify an exact probability on which to base the upper or lower warning line. Note that the actual warning limits will always be based on the respective normal distribution values, i.e., when establishing the warning limits (as a multiple of sigma), the p value entered here will be converted to the respective normal z value, which is then applied to the computation of the warning limits.

Specific value

Select this option button to specify a specific value to use as the upper or lower warning line.

Lower/Upper

Type the value into the Lower and Upper boxes, or adjust the numbers with the microscrolls.

Enabled

To enable or disable the Lower and/or Upper warning limits, select or clear the Enabled check boxes accordingly.
