Brushing 2D/3D - Extended Tab

Select the Extended tab of the Brushing 2D/3D dialog box to access options to identify subsets of data (which can be considered a "command driven" brushing subset) on the basis of the selected ranges and/or selection conditions (marked, labeled).

Swap
When you click the Swap button, all the points that are not highlighted will become highlighted, and those that are highlighted will become de-highlighted.
Highlight
Click the Highlight button to highlight the points that meet the criteria specified via the options under Selection by Sets and/or Selection by Ranges of Values on this tab. Note that the currently highlighted data points will remain highlighted.
De-Highlight
Click the De-Highlight button to remove the highlight from the points that meet the criteria specified via the options under Selection by Sets and/or Selection by Ranges of Values on this tab. Note that the data points that are currently not highlighted will remain de-highlighted.
Plot
Select either the desired plot or all plots on which to perform brushing from the Plot drop-down list. Thus, you can limit the data points that will respond to brushing to only those that belong to a particular plot.
Selection by Sets
When you select the Selection by Sets check box, you can specify the cases/points that are to be selected. You can select all Marked Points, Labeled Points, Excluded Points, Hidden Points, and Other Points. When more than one check box is selected, a logical AND is used (i.e., STATISTICA will highlight the subset of data which meets all the selected criteria). For example, if you select Marked Points and Labeled Points, only points that have been both marked and labeled will be highlighted in the graph.
Marked Points
The set of all points that have been previously marked.
Labeled Points
The set of all points that have been previously labeled.
Excluded Points
The set of all points that have been previously excluded.
Hidden Points
The set of all points that have been previously hidden.
Other Points
The set of all points that have not been previously marked, labeled, excluded, or hidden.
Selection by Ranges
When you select the Selection by Ranges check box, you can specify range of values so that only those points will be selected that fall within this range or (when used in conjunction with other options in this dialog box) the range of values from which the points specified in the Selection by Sets option will be selected.
X: /Y:/Z:
The respective fields for X:, Y:, Z: (for 3D graphs), and V: (for Ternary plots) can be used to specify the Min. and Max. values to define their ranges; the points will be highlighted that fall in these ranges.
Min/Max
Specify in the respective edit fields of X:, Y:, Z: (for 3D graphs), and V: (for Ternary plots) a range of values (Minimum and Maximum, inclusive) from which the points will be highlighted.
