Workspace Node: Design Simulation - Specifications - Quick Tab

The Design Simulation workspace node can be accessed from the Feature Finder, the ribbon bar, or the Node Browser. The Specifications - Quick tab is displayed by default when you open the specifications dialog box. Use the options on this tab to specify for each variable in the matrix spreadsheet a specific distribution from which to simulate random data. In addition, there are options to save the selected specific distribution names and parameter values back into the input matrix spreadsheet.

Element Name Description
Variables The variables in the matrix spreadsheet are listed in this box.
Predefined distributions Select one variable in the Variables list box and click this button to display the Default Distributions dialog box, where the parameters of the selected distribution can be customized.
Select all Click this button to select all the variables in the Variables list box.
Set defaults for selected variables Click this button to specify the selected distribution for each selected variable in the Variables list box as the default distribution specified in the matrix spreadsheet.
Distributions From this list, select the desired distribution to customize.
Parameters Click this button to display the Define Distributions dialog box, which is used to specify parameters for the selected distribution.
Custom parameterized distributions After selecting a distribution and specifying the parameters, the parameterized distribution will be displayed in this list box.
  • Apply: Click this button to specify the selected distribution in the Custom parameterized distributions list to the selected variables in the Variables list.
  • Delete: Click this button to delete the selected Custom parameterized distribution(s).
  • Clear all: Click this button to delete all Custom parameterized distributions.
Selected distributions All variables and their specified distribution are displayed in this list.

Create Macro Select this command to create a macro of the analysis.
OK Click the OK button to accept all the specifications made in the dialog box and to close it. The analysis results will be placed in the Reporting Documents node after running (updating) the project.
