Workspace Node: Correlation Matrices - Results - Advanced Tab

In the Correlation Matrices node dialog box, under the Results heading, select the Advanced tab to access the following options. Select the check boxes for the statistics and/or graphs to be produced and placed in the Reporting Documents after running (updating) the project.

Element Name Description
Summary: Corrs Select the Summary: Corrs check box to produce a spreadsheet containing the correlation matrix for the currently selected variables (via the Specifications - Quick tab). The computation of correlations and the display format depends on the settings on the Results - Options tab.
Graphs Select the Graphs check box to create scatterplots with histograms and associated descriptive statistics for the selected variables.
Matrix 1 Select the Matrix 1 check box to create a new square correlation matrix spreadsheet (i.e., correlations for variables specified via the One variable list option on the Specifications - Quick tab). This button is not available (disabled) when variables have been specified using the Two lists option. The matrix spreadsheet that will be created with four additional cases at the bottom of the data file that identify it as a matrix spreadsheet (see Matrix file format).
Partial correlations Select the Partial correlations check box to produce a spreadsheet containing the partial correlations matrix. Partial correlations are computed for the variables in the first list, controlling for the variables in the second list. This check box is not available (disabled) when variables have been specified using the One variable list option.
Matrix 2 Select the Matrix 2 check box to create a partial correlation matrix spreadsheet. The matrix spreadsheet has four additional cases at the bottom of the data file that identify it as a matrix spreadsheet (see Matrix file format). This check box is not available (disabled) when variables have been specified using the One variable list option.
2D scatterplots Select the 2D scatterplot check box to produce a cascade of scatterplots for selected pairs of variables. A standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed in which you select the variable(s) for the x- and y-axes; one plot will be produced per variable pair. The plot will show the regression line and the standard error of the predicted values (as error lines) in the scatterplot. with casenames. Select the with casenames check box to produce a cascade of scatterplots for selected pairs of variables. A standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed in which you select the variable(s) for the x- and y-axes, one plot will be produced per variable pair. The scatterplot will identify the points in the scatterplot with the case numbers or names (if case names are specified in the respective data file).
3D scatterplots / with casenames Select the 3D scatterplots check box to produce a 3D scatterplot for a selected triplet of variables. A standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed in which you select the variables for the x-, y-, and z-axes.
with casenames Select the with casenames check box to produce a 3D scatterplot for a selected triplet of variables. A standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed in which you select the variable for the x-, y-, and z-axes. The points in the scatterplot will be identified by the case numbers or names (if case names are specified in the respective data file).
Scatterplot matrix Select the Scatterplot matrix check box to produce a scatterplot matrix for selected variables. A standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed in which you select the variables for the plot.
Surface plots Select the Surface plots check box to produce a 3D scatterplot for a selected triplet of variables, and fit a quadratic surface to the data. A standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed in which you select the variables for the plot.
3D histograms Select the 3D histograms check box to produce a cascade of 3D histograms for selected pairs of variables, one plot per pair. If a single list of variables was previously selected (via the One variable list option), a standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed in which you select two lists of variables from among the previously selected variables, and 3D histograms will be produced for each variable in the first list with each variable in the second list. If two lists of variables were previously selected (via the Two lists (rect. matrix) option), the variable selection dialog box will not be displayed.

Options / C / W. See Common Options.

OK Click the OK button to accept all the specifications made in the dialog box and to close it. The analysis results will be placed in the Reporting Documents node after running (updating) the project.
