Joining (Tree Clustering) Dialog

To display the Cluster Analysis: Joining (Tree Clustering) dialog box, which contains two tabs: Quick and Advanced, select Joining (tree clustering) in the Clustering Method Startup Panel . To get analysis results quickly, use the options on the Quick tab ; to access options resulting in a more detailed analysis, use the Advanced tab.

Button Description
OK To display either the standard variable selection dialog box, or the Joining Results dialog box, click the OK button. Do this if the variables were already selected via the Quick tab or Advanced tab). Note that if the Batch processing and reporting check box is selected on the Cluster Analysis: Joining (Tree Clustering) dialog box - Advanced tab, STATISTICA automatically performs the entire analysis after you click the OK button and then returns to the Cluster Analysis: Joining (Tree Clustering) dialog.
Cancel To return to the Clustering Method Startup Panel, click the Cancel.utton.
Options To display the Options menu, click the Options button
Select Cases To display the Analysis/Graph Case Selection Conditions dialog box, click the Select Cases button. This is to create conditions for which cases will be included (or excluded) in the current analysis. More information is available in the case selection conditions overview, syntax summary, and dialog box description .
W To display the Analysis/Graph Case Weights dialog box, click the W (Weight) button which is used to adjust the contribution of individual cases to the outcome of the current analysis by "weighting" those cases in proportion to the values of a selected variable .
MD deletion Missing data can be deleted Casewise or by Mean Substitution depending on the selection in this group box. Note that the MD deletion options are only available if Raw Data has been specified as the Input file on the Quick tab or the Advanced tab.
  • Casewise: If this option button is selected, only cases that do not contain any missing data for any of the variables selected for the analysis will be included in the analysis
  • Mean substitution: If this option button is selected, missing data will be replaced by the means for the respective variables (for this analysis only, not in the data file)
