2D Categorized Scatterplots - Advanced Tab

Graphical Analytic Techniques

Select the Advanced tab of the 2D Categorized Scatterplots Startup Panel to access the options described here.

Layout
Choose either a Separate plot layout (where each subset of cases is displayed in a separate small graph) or an Overlaid plot layout (where all subsets are overlaid in one graph and identified only by patterns and colors) for the categorized scatterplots.
Variables
Click this button to display a variable selection dialog box, in which you can select the X and (optional) Y grouping variables and the variable(s) to be displayed in the scatterplots. A list of selected variables is displayed below the Variables button.
Note: the selected grouping variables do not have to be categorical variables (e.g., contain codes); you can use one of the methods of categorization to categorize continuous variables. The selection of grouping variables is not necessary if the categories are defined via the Multiple Subsets method.
Statistics
You can include a variety of statistics as footnotes in the graph by selecting one or more of the statistics listed in this group box.
R square
Select this check box to include the R square value (coefficient of determination). R square can be thought of as the percent of variation in the dependent variable that is explained by the independent variables.
Correlation and p
Select this check box to include the correlation for the plotted variables and its corresponding p-value.
Regression equation
Select this check box to include two regression equations in the footnotes. The first equation is for the y-axis variable as a function of x, the second is for the x-axis variable as a function of y.
X-Categories / Y-Categories
Select Integer mode, Unique values, or Categories to specify that method of categorization for each of the variables selected via the Change Variable button, or use the Boundaries, Codes, or Multiple subsets options. Fit type
You can fit either none (select Off) or one of several equations to the data in the scatterplot by selecting one of the predefined functions in this box.
