Select Variables for ETL Time Indexed Analysis

Click the Variables button in the STATISTICA Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL): Time-indexed dialog box - Quick or Advanced tab, to display the Select variables dialog box, which contains two frames that display a list of all variables in the active spreadsheet.

  1. Select one or two Date/Time variable(s) in the first frame. Date/Time defines how the data sources are joined. If one variable is selected, it must be of one of three data types: Date, Time, or Date Time. If two variables are selected, they must be Date and Time, respectively.

Element Name Description
Select variables Alternatively, you can use the Select variables box to enter variable numbers. A connected list of variables should be separated by a hyphen (e.g. 1-10), while a list of disconnected variables should be separated by spaces (e.g. 5 7 12 20).
Note: If you type the variable numbers in the edit box of the variable selection dialog, it preserves the order. If you select from the list, it does not preserve the order
Select All Click the Select All button to select all variables in the active spreadsheet
Spread Click the Spread button to display more information like the long description of each variable
Shrink Click the Shrink button which is the alternate function of the Spread button to display concise information, the variable number and short name for each variable

Bundles Click this button to display the Variable Bundles Manager. Using the options in this dialog box, you can create, edit, delete, and rename variable bundles as well as to generate a spreadsheet containing bundle information. Bundles can be used to organize large sets of variables and to facilitate the repeated selection of the same set of variables.

By creating bundles, you make it possible to quickly and easily locate a subset of data in a large data file
