Workspace Node: Naive Bayes Classifiers - Specifications - Memory Usage Tab

In the Naive Bayes Classifiers node dialog box, under the Specifications heading, select the Memory Usage tab to access the following options.

Element Name Description
Maximum data size, in MBs Select this check box to limit the amount of physical memory that can be used by Statistica Naive Bayes. Note that very large data problems may require significant memory and processing resources. Modify the defaults as needed (depending on your computer resources).
Note: When the size (roughly calculated from "number of variables" x "number of cases" x 8") of the selected variables (train and test samples) exceeds the limit specified in the option described above, Statistica Naive Bayes performs its repetitive (iterative) data reading operations from the disk, thus limiting the usage of memory resources on your computer. This will allow you to handle extremely large data sets at the expense of slower processing speed (depending on the speed at which data on your hard disk can be accessed) .

For most applications with moderately sized data sets, to enable the highest possible processing speed, you may want to set this option to the largest possible value, for example, at 50% or more of the RAM memory available on your computer.
