Options - Scaling Tab

Control Charts for Variables vs. Charts for Attributes

Select the Scaling tab of the Options dialog box to access the options described here.

User-defined scaling for control charts

The options in this box provide full control over the horizontal X-axis and vertical Y-axis scaling of the charts. Note that the option User-defined scaling of vertical axis in R (S) chart is only available if this dialog was called from the X-bar and R (S) Chart results dialog or the Moving Average results dialog.

X-axis

Specify the step size to use in the X-axis. The first sample will always be labeled, the every kth sample (where k = step size) will also be labeled. For example, if you specify a step size of 5, the first, fifth, tenth, fifteenth, …samples will be labeled.

Y-axis

Specify the min, max and step size for vertical axis in each plot ( X-bar, P, R (if applicable)).

User-defined scaling (categorization) for histograms

The options in this box provide full control over the categorization for histograms which are available from the respective results dialog boxes. For each histogram you can specify the min (starting value), max (end value) and step size (category width). There is also an option to move titles in order to avoid overlapping text.
