Workspace Node: Breakdown and One-Way ANOVA Individual Tables - Results - Descriptives Tab

In the Breakdown and One-Way ANOVA Individual Tables node dialog box, under the Results heading, select the Descriptives tab to access the following options.

Element Name Description
Summary: Table of statistics Select this check box to produce a summary table of descriptive statistics broken down by the grouping variables. The statistics reported in the table depend on the selections in the Statistics group box.
Subgroup Click this button to select from among the by-group variables those that, in the Summary results table, are to be shown in the columns of the result table. For example, if the results were computed for some variable Y, broken down by variables A and B, you could select variable B to show the means broken down for the values of A in the rows of the results table, by the values in B shown in the columns of the results table. Thus, the variables selected here will be used in the columns of the resulting breakdown table.
Detailed two-way tables Select this check box to produce a cascade of spreadsheets with two-way tables. If two or less grouping variables are selected, only a single spreadsheet will be produced. If more than two grouping variables are selected, the tables will be produced for the last two grouping variables, within the respective levels of the remaining (preceding) grouping variables. Use the Reorder factors in table option (see below) to change the order of grouping variables and therefore the order in which the two-way tables are produced. The statistics reported in the spreadsheets depend on the selections in the Statistics box (see below). Additional formatting options are available via the check boxes below this button (see below). The two-way tables will not only report summary statistics within each group, but also marginal summary statistics, that is, statistics for each factor ignoring the other. User-specified marginal tables are available via the Marginal means option (see below).
Display long variables names Select the Display long variables names check box to display the long variable labels for the grouping variables in the Header of the first spreadsheet column. If no long variable labels are specified for the grouping variables in the table, the setting of this check box is ignored.
Display long text labels Select the Display long text labels check box to report long value labels for the levels of the grouping variables in the first column of the spreadsheet. If no long value labels exist for the grouping variables in the two-way table, the setting of this check box is ignored.
Marginal means Select this check box to compute summary statistics (selected in the Statistics box, see below) for any marginal table, that is, for tables consisting of a subset of the current grouping variables, ignoring those not in the subset. The Specific Marginal Table dialog box will be displayed, which is used to select the grouping variables for the marginal table. To change the order of factors in the table, use the Reorder factors in table option before specifying the marginal table.
Reorder factors in table Select this check box to display the Order of Factors for Breakdown Table dialog box, which is used to change the order of the factors for the marginal table (see Marginal means above). Also, when reporting the within-group statistics, Statistica cycles through the groups in the current breakdown analysis so that the factor that was selected last is the one with the fastest changing subscript, the factor that was selected next to last is the one with the second fastest changing subscript, and so on. The Order of Factors for Breakdown Table dialog box is used to change the order of selected grouping variables, and thus the order in which the within-group statistics are reported.
Categorized box & whisker Select this check box to produce a cascade of categorized box and whisker plots for the dependent variables, one plot per dependent variable. A standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed if more than one dependent variable was selected. Use the options on the Options tab to specify the specific box and whisker type to be plotted. For each selected variable, Statistica produces a box and whisker plot, broken down (categorized) by the grouping variables (e.g., separately for males and females for each ethnic group).
Categorized histograms Select this check box to create a cascade of categorized histograms. A standard variable selection dialog box will be displayed if more than one dependent variable was selected. For each selected variable, a categorized histogram will be produced, summarizing the within-group distribution of the respective variable.
Statistics The options in this group box determine the statistics that are reported in the Summary: Table of statistics and the Detailed two-way tables. For a brief description of the available statistics, see Statistics in Breakdown Procedures.

OK Click the OK button to accept all the specifications made in the dialog box and to close it. The analysis results will be placed in the Reporting Documents node after running (updating) the project.
