Characters Tab

Select the Character tab in the Text Mining dialog box to access options to prohibit words from being indexed that contain the specified characters. Use the options on the Filters tab and Words tab to fine-tune the selection of words included and indexed for the final analysis. Use the options on the Defaults tab to save or retrieve the settings for these options and to set the defaults for future analyses.

Option Description
Character prohibited in words
Anywhere Specify prohibited characters. Words that contain characters in this list will not be indexed and will be excluded from the analysis.
First letter Specify prohibited characters that may begin with valid words (that may be the first letters in those words). Words that begin with characters in this list will not be indexed and will be excluded from the analysis.
Last letter Specify prohibited characters that may end with valid words (that may be the last letters in those words). Words that end with characters in this list will not be indexed and will be excluded from the analysis.
