Move Variables

You can access the Move Variables dialog box in the following ways:
  • Ribbon bar. Select the Edit tab. In the Clipboard/Data group, click Move and on the menu, select Variables to display the Move Variables dialog box.
  • Classic menus. On the Edit - Move submenu, select Variables to display the Move Variables dialog box.
Use these options to move a range of variables from one location to another.
Option Description
From variable Designate the first variable (inclusive) in the range of variables to be moved. (Note that if you are moving only one variable, designate the same variable in both the From variable and To variable fields.)
To variable Use this field to designate the last variable (inclusive) in the range of variables to be moved.
Insert after Designate the location (variable) in the spreadsheet that the variable(s) will be moved after (you cannot insert a range of variables after a variable that is included in the range of variables to be moved). The range of variables will be "cut" from their current spreadsheet location and moved to the right of the variable specified here.

You can select a variable from a list of all variables in the spreadsheet by double-clicking in the From variable, To variable, or Insert after fields (or pressing the F2 key on your keyboard).
