Insert Workbook Item

Ribbon bar. Select the Workbook tab. In the Items group, click Insert to display the Insert Workbook Item dialog box.

Classic menus. From either the Workbook menu or the Workbook Tree shortcut menu, select Insert to display the Insert Workbook Item dialog box.

Use these options to specify the type of item you want to insert into a workbook as well as the placement of that item in relation to the currently selected item in the workbook tree.

Element Name Description
Item Use the option buttons in the Item group box to select what type of file to add to the workbook.

STATISTICA Document. Select this option button to insert a STATISTICA document (i.e.., report, spreadsheet, macro, graph, or analysis) into the workbook. Click the OK button to display the Document Type dialog box, which is used to specify what type of STATISTICA document to add. See Adding New STATISTICA Documents to a Workbook, Adding a Saved STATISTICA Document to a Workbook, and Adding the Current Item to a Workbook for more details.

Workbook folder Select this option button to create a new folder in the workbook tree.
From another application Select the From another application option button to insert a document (e.g., Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) from another application.
All Windows Select the All Windows option button to add all of the open STATISTICA documents to the workbook. See ActiveX Documents for more information on supported document types.
Placement Use the option buttons in the Placement group box to specify whether the item is inserted as a sibling to (i.e., on the same level as) the currently selected workbook item or as a child to (i.e., one level beneath) the currently selected workbook item. Note that options for adding a file as a sibling are not available when the root folder is selected.
As last child Select this option button to cause the new item to be placed one level below the currently selected item, underneath any preexisting items.
As first child Select this option button to cause the new item to be placed directly one level below the currently selected item.
As next sibling Select this option button to cause the new item to be placed directly below and on the same level as the currently selected item.
As prior sibling Select this option button to cause the new item to be placed directly above and on the same level as the currently selected item.
OK After you have specified the item type and placement, click the OK button to proceed.
Cancel Click the Cancel button to exit the dialog box without inserting any items.
