2D Histograms

Creates standard 2D histograms for all categorical (class) and continuous variables; different categorization options are available for categorical and continuous variables, and specific codes can be specified for categorical variables.

General

Element Name Description
Graph type Specifies the type of 2D histograms to be plotted. If Regular plot is selected, lists of standard 2D histograms - one variable at a time - will be produced. If Multiple histogram is selected, multiple variables are plotted in a single (overlaid) graph.
Fit type Specifies the type of distribution to fit to the histogram of continuous variables. The chosen distribution will be shown in the graph. This option is not applicable to categorical variables.
Type of categorization Use the options in this group box to choose a method of categorization of the values in the histogram for the selected continuous variable(s).
Number of intervals Specifies the number of intervals for categorizing continuous variables; only applicable if the Type of categorization is set to Number of categories, and only to continuous variables.
Break between columns Specifies if you want the histogram columns to be separated from each other. According to common convention, histograms of continuous variables should be displayed with no breaks (the breaks signify discrete values).
Show percentages Select this check box in order to display percentages (relative frequencies) at the top of each column in the histogram. Percentages can be displayed for all types of histograms.
Detail of computed results reported Specifies the detail of computed results reported. If All results is selected, Statistica will also compute and report descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk test, and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for fitted distributions.
