Updating DDE Links

Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) links are updated in two ways: automatically and manually.

Automatic updated links: These types of links are automatically updated, meaning that the linked data in the Statistica Spreadsheet (client file) is automatically updated whenever any changes are made to the data in the server application. For example, if you have an automatic update link from a Statistica Spreadsheet to an Excel spreadsheet, the linked cells in the Statistica Spreadsheet is updated as soon as changes are made to the linked cells in the Excel spreadsheet.
Manually updated links: These types of links must be manually updated, meaning that the DDE link is temporarily disabled, and that you have to manually update the Statistica Spreadsheet (client file). There are two ways to manually update a link: by clicking the Update Link button in the Manage DDE Links dialog box, or by changing the link status back to Automatic Update (by clicking the Set Auto button).
