Tabs

Ribbon bar. Select the Edit tab. In the Layout group, click Tab to display the Tabs dialog box.

Classic menus. On the Format menu, select Tabs to display the Tabs dialog box.

By default, a report contains tab stops every half-inch (see below for information on how to change the settings from inches to centimeters). However, you can set custom tab stops by using the options in this dialog box.

Tab stop position Use the options in the Tab stop position group to enter a tab stop position as measured from the left margin. You can control whether the distance between the tab and the left margin is measured in inches or centimeters. To measure in centimeters, select the Use metric measurements check box in the General tab of the Options dialog box. To measure in inches, clear the Use metric measurements check box (the default setting).
Set To set a new tab, enter the tab position in the upper box, and then click the Set button to add the new tab stop to the list of tab stops in the lower box.
Clear Click the Clear button to delete the selected tab stop from the list of tab stops.

OK. Once you have set the tab stops, click OK.

Cancel. Click Cancel to exit without setting or removing any tab stops.

Clear All Click the Clear All button to delete all tab stops from the list of tab stops.
