Nonlinear Least Squares Results - Quick Tab
Purpose of Nonlinear Estimation
Select the Quick tab of the Nonlinear Least Squares Results dialog box to access the options described here.
Element Name | Description |
---|---|
Summary: Parameter estimates | Click the Summary: Parameter estimates button to create a spreadsheet with the parameter estimates for the current model. Summary statistics for the current analysis will be displayed in the spreadsheet header. |
Predicted values, Residuals, etc | Click the Predicted values, Residuals, etc. button to produce a spreadsheet containing the predicted values and residuals. |
Iteration history | Click the Iteration history button to create a spreadsheet containing the history of the iteration process. |
Analysis of variance | Click the Analysis of variance button to produce a spreadsheet containing an ANOVA table with the following quantities: |
-
Source df Sum of Squares Mean Squares F-value Regression n SSR = σY2i - g(θ*) MSR = SSR/n MSR/MSE Residual m-n SSE = g(θ*) MSE = SSE/(m-n) Total m SST = σY2i Corrected Total m-1 SSCT = Var(Y ) MSRCT = SSCT/M-1 Regression vs. Corrected n SSR = σY2i - g(θ*) MSR = SSR/n MSR /MSRCT For most models, the test in the last line of the ANOVA table will be of greatest interest, because it evaluates the statistical significance of the improvement in the prediction of dependent variable values, over the trivial prediction of the mean (for the dependent variable).
